Job Description: Sr. QA Analyst
Oxnard, CA
Will be based out of Plant, not corporate location
Newly created position due to growth
Participate in the development and maintenance of quality initiatives, projects or certifications essential to the success of the company
Responsible for food quality operational objectives by contributing information and analysis to functional strategic plans and reviews - preparing and completing action plans - implementing production, productivity, quality and customer service standards - identifying and resolving problems - completing audits - determining system improvements - implementing change

Job Requirements: BS degreed - REQUIRED - Food Science, Business, Agriculture OR related field
5 to 10 years exp. with perishable commodities, in production packaging distribution environments - food/produce industry exp. and/or perishables, shelf life products - REQUIRED
Raw produce exp. (produce/food that is not cut - oranges, apples, cherries, etc...)
3+ years project management and/or supervisor exp.
Ability to travel (up to 10% of the time) domestically and internationally as needed for training and support
Strong exp. in quality analysis/research, ability to read and interpret government regulations, safety rules instructions (OSHA), policies and procedures manuals, exp. with QA/Food Safety Audit and Certifications (Primus, Organic, Social Compliance Audit, etc.), writing SOPs (strong writing skills required) and procedures from scratch
Ability to develop, manage and train on HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point System) program, pest control, sanitation, chemical control, recall PTI (Produce Traceability Initiative), and GTIN (Global Trade Item Number) and other related Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) programs
Exp. working with FDA and/or USDA Rules and Regulations
Strong knowledge of techniques of planting, growing, and harvesting perishable commodities including storage and handling techniques
Thorough understanding of sanitation practices, procedures and pest control
Proficiency with MS Office applications to analyze and troubleshoot information/data, develop and use spreadsheets (Excel - formulas, control charting, data analysis, spreadsheets) - Access, SQL
Strong organizational skills, ability to be hands-on, work independently, customer service driven, ability to deal with complex situations, ability to take direction, project management, open to wearing many different hats, self-motivated/self-starter, able to take initiative, etc..
Excellent interpersonal skills to handle internal and external complaints, conflicts, problems, etc..
